The conference rooms

The building now employed for conferences used to be Cortevecchia’s barn (see arrow in the photo above). Except for the beamed ceiling which recalls the ceiling of Florence’s ‘Certosa,’ the rest has been refurbished. The largest room seats up to 250 guests. It is called the ‘Sala del Gallo’ because of the big wrought iron sculpture of a cock which is placed at one end of the room. Just to mention a few of the many national and international institutions that held conferences here: The European Oncology Institute, The Nuclear Medicine Institute of Grosseto, Trenitalia, Rentokill and so on. Next to the large conference room there’s another one for up to 100 guests The rooms are fully equipped for standard conference service.

Rooms for concerts and celebrations

During the year our conference rooms are also used for business meetings, for award ceremonies, art exhibitions and concerts. To give you an idea of the quality of the exhibitions held here, we can mention Maestro Stefan Litwin’s piano concerts, and Maestro Bruno Baldassarri’s readings of Italian poetry.

Religious ceremonies

One of the above mentioned rooms is also used for inter religious liturgical meetings. In other words, the room is an ecumenical Christian Chapel. Every priest from any of the Christian confessions can celebrate mass here, because the altar-piece represents the Resurrection of the Lord, an event which every Christian confession agrees upon. Therefore our Chapel has witnessed the weddings of Anglican as well as Catholic couples. When you visit the place, we’ll tell you how we managed to transfer an ‘imaginary’ Piero della Francesca to our Chapel in Cortevecchia!
